I Should Blog About My Fat Cat..
While flipping through channels the other day, I came across the documentary called "Born into Brothels". I think it gave me a wake up call on how lucky I have it or everyone has it here. When you've got generation after generation of prosititution, and you have an 8 year old telling you that her life was predetermined to exist in this way - its depressing, but alarming.I will grasp onto the miniscule hope that the photographer's efforts in guiding those girls and boys will shed a little light in their eyes.
On another note, Antony Gromley's exhibition has caught my eye. 27 statues standing on roof tops are expected to “to play with the city and people’s perceptions,” according to him. My count so far - two.
Being the lego fan that I am, I am definitely going to see Nathan Sawaya's lego exhibit. My parents gave me my first lego set when I was 5. I remember building houses that drew resemblances to ones on the box. Ok, i lied. I made houses that were identical to the cover of the box. Oh how i cherished the time spent when we were young. The agendas during that time were 1. build lego house 2. take apart lego house. 3. build lego house 1.2. Now when I look back, I wondered why I never had the urge to become an architect..Oh..i remember now..barbie came into play. Damn you barbie and your pretty dresses and shoes.

Love Bites
I’m not an expert – on the subject of love. In fact, I’ve had my share of trials and tribulations. However, it seems as though when you’re on the outside viewing things from a different perspective, you see things much clearer. You’re able to apply the mistakes you’ve made and learn from there, and can only hope that the next step you take won’t be another mistake. Here are a few life lessons from my experiences:
Be the Conceited Biotch for a Change. First and most crucial factor in love - love yourself. By this, I mean knowing and understanding what you love, what you want and why is it that you want whatever it is, feeling good about yourself, and finding yourself again. We all have different needs. Different wants. You must ask yourself what is important to you and what isn’t. You must love and understand yourself before you can love another. Think about it this way – your future mate who you’ll learn to love will know what he wants from you, shouldn’t you want the same from him?
Live and learn – On Your Own. Being single and on your own without having to be accountable for anyone is definitely an approach to knowing yourself. During my single days, I can honestly say I wanted to see what there was to see, do what there was to do (drugfree) of course, and just live without fear of someone hurting me or vice versa. Go out and explore. Do things you said you were going to do when you were in a relationship and you couldn’t do it at that time. Now that you have no obligations to anyone, what’s stopping you?
Stop and You Shall Find. Don’t go looking for love. When you go searching for it, you set yourself to a certain standard and when you don’t find it, you wind up being disappointed.
Quickies Aren’t Fun. Don’t jump into relationships with the idea that you can build on it. For example, after a first date and he asks to be your boyfriend, ask yourself why the rush? If you step out side of that, you will tell yourself this: this guy must not understand relationships because relationships take work, establishment of trust, and finding and meeting each other’s needs.
The Chasing Never Ends. Long term or short term, you have to be mysterious in minimal ways. How do you wonder or miss a person, if you know every minute of their schedule? In the beginning of a relationship, you catch the person’s attention, by not letting him know your every move. In a developing relationship, you keep him wondering about you while trying to gain his trust. In an established relationship, you spice it up by changing it up. You don’t have to seem him everyday every moment. Absence does make the heart grow fonder. It’s like food, if you haven’t had it awhile, you crave it. If you make yourself available at his every beckon, then what else is there to want from you?
Stink Bombs. You’re lonely. You ask yourself many times, is it you? or What’s wrong with me? You’re at your all time low. Your ex or someone who hurt you decides to call you up at this time. Ignore the damn phone, email, or text. You threw the mess out a long time ago. Would you go to city’s dumping ground and look for your garbage? NO.
I've had my fair share of pain, tears, and jerks. but I've also had and am still enjoying my share of laughters, fun, and lovefools.
Love thyself. Date without expecting. Love without wanting anything in return.
